Hannity's Conservative Campaign Against Gay Equality

Reported by Deborah - January 24, 2005

Governor Blagojevich of Illinois signed a human rights bill recently preventing discrimination against Gays in the areas of employment and housing. Although this sounds like good news to most Americans, Peter LaBarbera, Illinois Family Institute, appeared on Hannity &Colmes to protest to a sympatico Hannity and a disgusted Colmes.

The Illinois Family Institute is part of the Focus on the Family group headed by James SpongeBob Dobson. This anti discrimination law did not mention Churches at all focusing on businesses with 15 or more employees and housing issues but LaBarbera managed to make the connection anyway.

LaBarbera claimed that churches will be forced to hire proud and open gays, lesbians and transexuals.Colmes asked if adulterers should be hired by Churches even though adultery is a sin?

Hannity took his turn asking,
"Are we true to our faith. Do people have the right to follow our faith?"

comment What are the chances that a proud and open gay person would want to work for these extremists? LaBarbera and his group go against everything Americans and Christians believe but the real issue is why is Fox continuing this campaign with such passion?
The majority of Christians are not supportive of this discriminatory
attitude and there is going to be a backlash from the conservative right against these extremist buffoons.
