Despite reports that the Dow made a poor showing in January, the Forbes gang was upbeat about stocks suggesting that the Nasdaq was making a comeback. Victoria Murphy's stock pick clearly represented the Republican optimism after Bush's speech. Murphy picked Armor Holdings, a company that makes armor for bodies and vehicles. Hopefully, that means that there are future plans to actually purchase armor for our troops spreading Bush style liberty throughout the world. 1/22/05 11AM ET
During a discussion about the Social Security dismantling, Elizabeth MacDonald commenting on anyone expressing opposition to the plan said, " If you oppose your're going to lose at the polls. Am I supposed to to go to Prada and see if they have size 9 jack boots?"
Grumbles of disbelief could be heard from the Forbitrons.
comment:As a member of the generation affected by this financial experiment being proposed, I have questions.Maybe I missed hearing all the details of the grand plan to mess with social security but being a control freak, I need some convincing facts. If Republicans get their way on this one, I'll be looking for size 7 Jack Boots but I'm going to Sears.
