Get Real

Reported by Melanie - December 27, 2004

A question I heard over and over today (December 27, 2004) on CNN, MSNBC and on the Fox "News" Channel was, "Can it [a tsunami] happen here?"

Of course it can! Is our media drunk on the fantasy (which "the powers that be" would have us believe) that the United States of America is so great, so powerful and so perfect that a tsunami can't happen here? Does the media actually believe that the United States of America is immune to natural disasters? Does the media think that the sea bed off our coast is "better than" the sea bed off the Asian coast? Does the media think, or want us to believe, that the United States of America is omnipotent?

How deep into lala land do we have to go before we're shaken back to reality and before we rejoin the vulnerable and fragile human race?
