Get ready, America. It's Not Just Bush Who Thinks He Won A Mandate.

Reported by Ellen - December 11, 2004

According to FOXNews.com, Rev. Jerry Fallwell is "invigorated by what he calls the 'greatest victory' in the history of the religious right" and is set to resurrect the Moral Majority "that SOME SAY led to the march of Christian soldiers to Washington."

As I reported yesterday, rather than bask in their victory, the religious right still feels threatened and in fighting mettle. Rev. Fallwell says "the movement must now fight complacency" despite the fact that it just won "the greatest conservative victory in American history" that he claims occurred on November 2. "We therefore will be pounding, pounding doors through the media and the pulpits of our churches for the next 48 months," he said.

"'Between now and '08, we are going to be putting on state ballots family initiatives and controversial initiatives to awaken our people out to the polls,' he said, underscoring another main goal of the new Moral Majority – to elect a social conservative to succeed Bush in 2008."

And you'd better believe that FOX will be doing its fair share to help make it all happen.

Question for progressives: Are we going to just sit and wait for the next round of attacks on our mainstream values or are we going to do something to get ready?
