Hannity Campaigning for 2008

Reported by Deborah - December 6, 2004 -

The 2004 vote is not yet certified but Hannity has already started to bash potential Democratic candidates for the 2008 race. Tonight on Hannity & Colmes, Steve Robinson, who started a Draft Al Gore website, made Hannity's night by giving him an opportunity to revive some of his campaign rhetoric against one of his favorite enemies, Al Gore. 12/06/04 9:45PM ET Hannity opened the interviews by stating that he thought Al Gore was "a bit unhinged" and then immediatly showing a well worn clip of Gore in a fiery speech saying that Bush had betrayed his country.Of course, the comment was taken out of context leaving out Gore's assertion that Bush entered us into an illegal war with Iraq. Hannity brought up Gore's association with Moveon.org asking, "Is that something you're proud of?" Hannity, in one of his patronizing, calm and haughty moods refused to let Robinson respond fully as usual but this time he was not yelling as he usually does. " Is it okay for a former Vice President at a time of war to be screaming that our President has betrayed his country, speaking at moveon.org? He absolutely lost it. If that's what you..." comment: This was just a convenient opportunity to reinforce the negative feelings about Liberals. Now that the Democratic voice has been completely squelched in Washington, Fox and Hannity want to keep the anger against the Democrats alive. Alan Colmes made the point that Al Gore does not want to run and is happy with his new life. The entire segment was pointless except for it's value as a reminder to the Fox base. The two mentions of Moveon.org pushed all the right buttons since Hannity has made Moveon.org the symbol of the radical and unamerican left.
