Reported by Deborah - November 27, 2004
Dari Alexander and Major Don Edwards, Fox Military analyst, discussed a breaking story about a plan to assassinate George W Bush in Colombia last week.11/27/04 4:15PM ET
Alexander reported that officials in Colombia claim that a marxist rebel group had plans to assassinate Bush during his visit to Cartegena, Colombia last week.
Alexander referring to Bush as "the leader of the free world" and " the President of the free world", was incredulous that this could happen.
Don Edwards pulled out the map of Colombia and gave viewers a run down on the cocaine and herion production in Colombia that has been threatened by Bush's efforts to eliminate drug traffic. No definite sources were mentioned by Alexander or Edwards but plenty of hypothetical theories were offered. Edwards admitted that there are always these kind of threats when a President is travelling.
The story was repeated three times in 25 minutes.
