VOTE!!!

Dear Readers,
I'm giving FOX a break tonight after a long day of working for the Kerry campaign. Tomorrow is going to be another long day as I must be at my precinct by 6:30 am. If I didn't think this election was the most important in my lifetime, I would never be up and out at such an ungodly hour. Tonight, I got word that Republican challengers are expected in my 80% Democratic county. I'm in a swing state and it's an awesome feeling knowing how much my vote could count this year but it's also particularly upsetting to know that part of the Republican strategy seems to depend on disqualifying votes. I have spent a lot of time doing voter registration since last winter and I am in a position to know there has been no fraud, at least with my group which has done most of the registering. Mistakes maybe, fraud no.
After so many years of fashioning ourselves as the beacon of democracy, it seems especially ironic that there is so much uncertainty about the integrity of the US election. I believe the failure of the Bush Administration to adequately address the problems that arose in the 2000 election is just one more reason that Bush should be thrown out of office in a landslide. So please, if you do nothing else today, CAST YOUR VOTE!.
