Federal judge orders paper ballots
Reported by Chrish - November 2, 2004 -
The lines were still so long, at 8:51pm ET, that a complaint was filed and a federal judge has ordered paper ballots to be given to voters in line in Ohio. A commentator on MSNBC (Chip Green?) wondered aloud if that was "creative judging". Another commentator, a man from NYU Law School answered that judges generally want to protect Americans' right to vote.
Also at this time Chris jansing of MSNBC reported that Alleghany PA decided to extend polling hours 1 1/2 hours, to 9:30pm. Republicans were appealing.
Comment: What's more important, guys - being inflexible with rules under these extraordinary circumstances, or bending a little to allow people to vote?
