Hannity's Last Chance 2004
Reported by Deborah - November 1, 2004 -
Sean Hannity deserves a lot of recognition for all the hours he has spent working to destroy John Kerry and the Democratic Party. He has lied, distorted, manipulated, intimidated and humiliated a multitude of people in this quest. There has been no filth too vile for Hannity to smear and no lie too outrageous to spread during this campaign. Tonight was his last chance before election day and even Jeb Bush and Karl Rove couldn't help him look like a winner. 11/1/04 9PM
Jeb Bush, the first guest, stood in front of a stone like group of Bush supporters holding signs and staring blankly into the cameras. Jeb asserted right off that this was going to be clean election and every vote will be counted. Jeb declared with a straight face that "there are some liberals in our state" but he didn't seem to see any problems for his brother.
When Alan Colmes came in to break his bubble with the new polling numbers, Jeb got a little riled and even interrupted Colmes, but backed down. Then Colmes questioned the lack of endorsements for his brother from newspapers.
"Republicans don't do well in the endorsement game," was his reply. Then more zingers from Colmes about the felon purges and voter intimidation. Brother Jeb just didn't look too confident or victorious complaining about too many lawyers around.
Then on to the important swing state of New Mexico to talk to Bill Richardson and Karl Rove. Richardson was ready for Hannity with some very positive indicators for a Kerry win.Hannity tried some low blows suggesting that Kerry would imperil the safety of New Mexico's children which sounded rather ridiculous.
Karl Rove was next in line and he was spinning furiously and obviously worried, if he flew out to New Mexico on election eve. It was interesting to note, that although it was a live interview, there was no time given to Colmes although that only happens during exclusive interviews. It seemed quite obvious that Rove's bravado about winning New Mexico was fake. The man looked worried although that would indicate that he had emotions which is as uncertain as New Mexico's outcome.
During the final segment Terry MCaulliffe and Colmes talked about Cheney's recent over the top remarks about nuclear bombs. MCaulliffe mentioned that Cheney needed a meds change. Hannity awakened from his depressed stupor to defend his new Father figure.
"You want to take back what you said about the Vice President changing his medication?"
That was Hannity's last campaign zinger and it was definitely not memorable.
