Fox Can't Count

Reported by Judy - November 1, 2004 -

Fox and Friends today (Nov. 1) reported the breaking news of a Democratic federal judge in Ohio ruling that a state law allowing poll challengers to question voters' qualifications was unconstitutional. What didn't they report?

Co-host Steve Doocy said that the ruling throwing out the 51-year-old statute will be appealed by Republicans. He added that the judge who made the ruling "was appointed by Bill Clinton," adding extra drama to the former president's name.

Later in the show, co-host E.D. Hill was questioning campaign consultant Dick "The Toe" Morris and repeated that a Democratic judge had made the ruling. Democrats brought the challenge to the Ohio law, contending that Republican challengers would intimidate voters, especially in African American areas.

In between Doocy and Hill's comments, however, Fox News reporter Jeff Goldblatt in Ohio said that identical rulings were made by a Democratic judge in U.S. District Cour in southern Ohio and a Republican judge in the northern district. Hill ignored Goldblatt's report when she framed her question to Morris.

If Fox is having trouble counting judges today, what will they do when they have to count votes tomorrow?
