The Donahue Magic

Reported by Deborah - October 28, 2004 -

Phil Donahue was an unlikely guest tonight on Hannity&Colmes, filling the screen with his familiar magic and integrity. Donahue managed to silence Hannity and champion the progressive position with his benevolant power. What a master! 10/28/04 9:30 PM

Phil Donahue was very clear about his positions tonight claiming that this admistration has shredded the constitution and describing this election as an "emergency" for the country.Donahue proclaimed his right to dissent claiming that this administration is the most secretive aand unamerican. "The American people are going to fix it."

Donahue was asked about what happened to his show on MSNBC and he answered honestly.
"We were the only anti-war voice. They were very nervous. I had to have two conservatives on for every liberal. I was counted as 2 liberals. I was isolated and our numbers were very decent. The network told us to leave."
Hannity surprisingly added that Donahue's show had the highest ratings.

Alan Colmes was energized by Donahue's support and they had a very satisfying volley of liberal views. Together they were able to adequately defend Kerry and the Liberal ideals which have been so severely distorted.
"Liberals believe in the Bill of Right."Donahue declared in defense.

Hannity gave it one last shot actually reading his response from 3x5 cards. Hannity read off a list of "Aren't you ashamed" questions which left Donahue totally unruffled. His quick and decisive answers left Hannity insecure and blessedly quiet by Fox standards, at least.

Comment: John Stewart recently said that "liberals have shame" citing the way that Begala looks down during crossfire. After seeing Donahue tonight, I understand what Stewart meant with that statement. It's time for all of us to look up and be proud.
