Is FOX Rooting for the Cardinals?
Reported by Marie Therese - October 26, 2004 -
It appears that the Fox Entertainment Channel, which is broadcasting the World Series, needs the Red Sox to lose a few and the Cardinals to win a few. Paul Curcio writes: "Just days ago, Fox had everything riding on the Boston Red Sox. How things have changed now that the Sox are up two games in the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals."
Curcio continues: "Yes, it would be the grandest World Series, perhaps ever, if Boston were to win, its first such victory since 1918. But not so fast. Fox very much needs the Series to go beyond a shutout of four games. Seven games, with the last going into extra innings, would be just dandy. It's all about ad dollars, in the case of the three remaining games, millions upon millions of dollars in ad revenue that it would not see and yet sorely needs."

News Hounds does not take sides in athletic contests, for purely selfish reasons. We all support different teams and we'd end up in a donnybrook if we dared to declare a favorite!!
All kidding aside, we think it's just great that this World Series has garnered huge spikes in viewership and want to commend BOTH teams for a job well done.
