Proof Positive that FOX Operates as Advanceman for the GOP
Reported by Ellen - October 25, 2004 -
For several weeks, I have been complaining about FOX News stories about the dangers of "voter fraud" without an iota of concern about voter suppression. I have long suspected that this was a PR effort in advance of a Republican effort to challenge votes that "coincidentally" would likely be Democratic. Now an article from the NY Times demonstrates that is exactly what is going on.
The article, "Big G.O.P. Bid to Challenge Voters at Polls in Key State,"
by Michael Moss, appeared October 23. 2004. It reports on Republican efforts to challenge voters in the key battleground state of Ohio where Democrats have registered "tens of thousands of new voters" according to the Times. According to the Times, plans are afoot in other swing states, too.
"Election officials in other swing states, from Arizona to Wisconsin and Florida, say they are bracing for similar efforts by Republicans to challenge new voters at polling places, reflecting months of disputes over voting procedures and the anticipation of an election as close as the one in 2000."
Comment: To see examples of "voter fraud" stories I have written about, click on the "Ellen elaborates" link on the right side of this page, under the "News Hounds" category. Those are just the reports I knew about. The other News Hounds have written about others.
If this were prior to the 2000 presidential election, I think we would have seen FOX stories on "the dangers of felons voting" in Florida.
