Ann Coulter, Victim

Reported by Ellen - October 25, 2004 -

Get out your hankies for poor Ann Coulter. After making a living from calling liberals treasonous and other inflammatory insults, two men returned the hostility by throwing pies at her during a recent speech. Oh, oh, it's just so unfair. Thank God Alan Colmes was willing to spend the entire first hour of his radio program tonight condemning liberals who do this sort of thing.

Coulter, whose latest book is called "How to Talk to Liberals (If You Must)" happily chatted with the self-described liberal Alan Colmes for the second time this month without showing a scintilla of reluctance either tonight or previously. In fact, she readily agreed to extend the segment tonight in order to talk more. I'm sure it was a tremendous sacrifice.

What must have assuaged her sensibilities was Colmes' great compassion toward her as he accepted without dispute her assertion that only conservatives are the victims of partisan hostility. No mention of the incredible bullying tactics and mean-spiritedness displayed by Colmes' TV partner, Sean Hannity, nearly every night. I guess that doesn't count. Nor, apparently, did Coulter's "compassionate" remark to the caller who complained about Colmes' collaboration with her agenda. "Alan, you have run afoul of the Nazi block-watcher," she said about the caller. No complaint from Colmes about that.

By the way, Alan and Ann, it's clear neither of you have been to my neck of the woods where Kerry lawn signs are being ripped up and removed in my 80% Democratic county. I know because mine was, along with that of my neighbor across the street. Also, in the past six months, I have found a nail or tack in one of my tires five times. That has never happened to me before. Could it be because of my anti-Bush bumper stickers? I guess it must be those liberals, trying to con me into voting for Kerry.
