SBG Washington Bureau Chief speaks out.

Reported by Chrish - October 19, 2004 -

In today's (10/18) "The Grapevine" segment (6:32 ET) of Special Report, Brit Hume informs us that Jon Lieberman, Washington Bureau Chief of Sinclair Broadcasting Group, spoke to the press about this company's decision to mandate showing of "Stolen Honor", an anti-Kerry film.

Lieberman called the film "biased political propaganda, with clear intentions to sway this election." Mr. Lieberman told the Baltimore Sun "For me it's not about right or left, it's about right or wrong in news coverage this close to an election...There is going to be a concerted effort on the part of my colleagues to make this as balanced a program as they can, but the selection of the material...(is) indefensible, in my opinion."

According to Hume, an SBG official called Lieberman "a disgruntled employee" and said he "violated company policy by speaking to the press about company business."

Hour later Mr. Lieberman was fired .

You can call Joe DeFeo (a former FOX employee, imagine that) at 410-568-1500 (Main Telephone) or 410-568-1533 (Main Fax) to comment on Lieberman's firing.

Contact SBG to protest their treatment of an ethical journalist.
