Fake News on FOX News
Reported by Ellen - October 18, 2004 -
If FOX were your only news source (God forbid), you might think that the only thing of note said at the last presidential debate was Kerry's remark about Dick Cheney's daughter being a lesbian. Not only has this triviality been discussed ad nauseum on FOX (I have personally sat through four discussions about this snoozer of a topic), but very little else that happened HAS been reported or discussed. The same was true on yesterday's FOX News Sunday.
In fact, yesterday's show had two segments on this. The first time, host Chris Wallace introduced the subject to his guests from each campaign with a Kerry-bash, by reporting that a Washington Post poll showed that 2/3 of voters (Democrats and Republicans) thought Kerry's comments were inappropriate. The second time was during the pundit panel, when the topic arose all over again for the usual gang of four to expound upon.
Not mentioned during the show: A discussion of the actual issues raised during the debates (with the exception of the draft and taxes, briefly, at the end of the first segment with the campaign spokespeople). Lots of talk about Sinclair broadcasting the Swift Boat "documentary," though.
