Campaign Carl Cameron, at the end of his daily backhanding of Senator Kerry on Special Report 10/15, added the "news" that Theresa Heinz Kerry is a very wealthy woman.
Her newly released tax returns reveal that she paid $627,000 federal income taxes on $2,290,000 and she also paid $171,000 in Pennsylvania taxes. She earned $2.78million in tax-exempt interest income from state, municipal and public entity bonds.
After reporting the numbers, Carl could not resist this speculation: "Open question - as to whether the senator's populist message courting the little guy will still go over well, knowing his wife made about $5 million just last year."
Comment: Thanks for doing the math for us dummies. Since the electoral process is so badly poisoned with money, it's already known that only the wealthy can compete at this high level. I'd like to hear some snide remarks about the Bush dynasty's wealth, and how much George stands to inherit (tax-free, thank himself very much) and how much HIS family is making off the dirty war in Iraq.
