Getting Physical About the Debate

Reported by Judy - October 9, 2004 -

Leaving no angle unexplored in its post-debate coverage, Fox and Friends today (Oct. 9) featured the author of a book on body language who looked at the body language of George Bush and John Kerry in last night's debate.

Kevin Daley, author of Talk Your Way to the Top, seemed to think that Kerry looked more presidential and in command. "Senator Kerry hasn't learned how to use his face yet, but the rest of his body he uses pretty well," Daley said.

Daley said that Bush looked good when he made fun of himself for scowling, noting, "Look how good he looks making fun of himself." He added, though, that Bush blew it when he was asked about mistakes he has made and refused to name any.

Bottom line for Daley: "Bush's presence is very strong, Kerry seems to have come across stronger."
