'Hometown' Bush Paper Endorses Kerry

Reported by Ellen - September 28, 2004 -

That's the news from Associated Press on FOXNews.com. It's a pretty damning story. The Crawford, Texas paper supported Bush in 2000 and supported the invasion of Iraq but now endorses Kerry. The paper says the following about its reasons for the endorsement:

The Crawford paper... has been "let down" by various aspects of the war.

It charges the president has made continuous mistakes regarding terrorism and Iraq that have diminished the nation's "reputation and influence" around the world.

The paper also says it is also troubled by what it calls the "deteriorating state" of the economy, and what it describes as the president's initiatives to "disable" the Social Security system.

Comment: Those of us who remember how much the media gloated over Al Gore losing his home state of Tennessee can just imagine how FOX would trumpet the news if Kerry's hometown paper endorsed Bush. Yet, I expect that this news will pass relatively unremarked on the Fair and Balanced network. Maybe a mention on a news report. It's a fairly safe bet neither O'Reilly nor Hannity will consider it worth mentioning.
