Unfair About Balance

Reported by Deborah - September 26, 2004 -

Hannity was in an especially nasty mood on Friday night,9/24/04. Kirsten Powers and Kelly Anne Conway were booked to discuss Teresa Heinz Kerry's most recent verbal offense which was her use of the word scumbag during an interview. Although Hannity had hinted otherwise, Teresa had not called anyone a scumbag. Responding to a question, she had used the word to describe a certain type of person found in all professions beyond politics. Hannity had used 3 segments on this attack and he wanted to make it stick.

Conway's response was perfect. She praised Laura and demeaned Teresa. Power's defense of Teresa was not acceptable to Hannity so he barked,
" You're very good. I'm going to keep you off cast."

Hannity was not smiling and there was no hint of jest in his tone. In fact, he sounded annoyed, arrogant and threatening. Does he really have the power to keep someone "off cast" if they're too good at defending his opposition?
