Clinton's Back in the Picture

Reported by Deborah - September 24, 2004 -

Hannity just can't seem to let Bill Clinton have a little peace.Tonight while attacking Kerry spokesperson, Chad Clanton, Hannity made derogatory mention of Clinton three times. Clanton and Colmes trounced Hannity in this segment making him look both bitter and ineffective. 9/24/05 9PM ET

Chad Clanton was a very effective representative for the Kerry campaign. Unlike so many new guests on Fox, Clanton seemed ready to do battle with Hannity who started off the interview with his typical yes/no question. Raving about John Kerry and his hacks criticizing Allawi, he asked, "Are you proud?"
Clanton answered with a firm, "Yes!" This,of course, was not the right answer for Hannity, who expects his guests to try to avoid a direct answer, so he was thrown off message .

That's when the first Clinton barb was thrown."You have all the Clinton hate people..." The harangue became disjointed but he used the "no core, no soul" attack routine. Then said to Clanton, " I know you're like Clinton."

Colmes chimed in with, "Terrorists are pouring into Iraq. How are they free?"
Clanton responded with a Hannity trick , reading an anonymous quote.
"We've got to be honest. Stop the grand illusion that we're winning."
Then it was revealed that Chuck Hagle, Republican Senator said it.

Hannity sputtered his last word. "I love when you Clinton guys lecture us on the truth."

Comment: Hannity lives in the past when a connection to Bill Clinton was a negative thing. Now, using Bill Clinton makes Hannity look mean spirited and out of touch with the American psyche.
