Mission Inebriation

Reported by Deborah - September 22, 2004 -

Peggy Noonan stated that CBS is suffering with "mission inebriation. It gets heady and arrogant". Hannity and Noonan were full of theories about CBS and Hannity suggested a criminal investigation accusing them of trying to influence a Presidential race less then 50 days from election day. 9/22/04 9:32PM ET

At 9:35 PM Colmes tried to address Noonan with a question but she was turned with back to Colmes intently talking to Hannity. She was busy making an historical analogy and rudely refused to even acknowledge Colmes presence. Finally she turned , "Oh Alan" she purred with her best Bette Davis grandiosity.

When she was asked about Dan Rather, she replied with another attempt at impressing us with her intellectual superiority by misquoting F.Scott Fitzgerald.
"The mark of true maturity is holding two opposing thoughts at the same time."

Then talking about CBS's involvement with the memos Noonan said,
"I worked for them. That's what they are. CBS is liberal."

Colmes got tougher and finally pinned her down to a direct but foggy accusation that Rather and CBS tried to influence the election.

comment: Now that Fox has been forced to acknowledge the real poll numbers, they are getting way down in the gutter. It was quite unbelievable to watch Peggy Noonan's shocked accusation that CBS and Rather are liberal Democrats and therefore their illegal behaviors are certain.

Well I wonder if Noonan thinks that FNC is non partisan and unbiased. FNC has been expending every ounce of their energy in the re-election of Bush. Hannity has openly campaigned for the Republican Party. Carl Cameron's wife worked on the Bush campaign in 2000.Bush's cousin called the 2000 election for Bush before the results were certain. Roger Ailes was a Republican press secretary. Rupert Murdoch is a huge supporter of the Republican party. Fox has acted as the Swiftee Boys personal media outlet. The list goes on and on.
Anyone who has seen Outfoxed knows that any media investigation should start with FNC. Hannity should be more careful. He is treading on very thin ice here .
Hannity, remember what Peggy said about "mission inebriation" making people do things they may regret.
