Blame the weather.

Carl Cameron, reporting on Studio B 9/22 at 3:05 edt, was in West Palm Beach with the Kerry campaign. Noting that Kerry had had to cancel some appearances due to the hurricanes, Carl said there are questions about whether or not these storms have damaged Florida's infrastructure and will make it difficult to rely on the vote 41 days from now.
Comment: Heads up, folks. Of course it's going to be difficult to rely on the vote in Florida. We're already wise to the screwy ballots, the voter purge list Version 04.2 has been pre-emptively stricken, Democrats are going to turn out in record numbers, and the polls are going to be scrupulously monitored by progressive groups. The repugs have got to have a creative new means for again voiding the will of the people in Florida.
In the same manner that viewers are being trained to distrust the UN, they are being set up to distrust the US electoral process. If Kerry whomps Bush in November, you can bet there will be a right-wing uproar about voting machines, hacking, cheating, unequal protection, ad nauseum. If Bush wins, the process will be glorified and the Diebold machines will multiply like bunnies.
