Knowing Fox, It's No Surprise They "Ran Out Of Time" (Updated)

Reported by Ellen - September 21, 2004 -

Alan Colmes just played his entire interview with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on his radio program, Fox News Live with Alan Colmes. Portions of the interview were played on Hannity & Colmes Monday night but "there wasn't enough time" to play it all on TV. I didn't see that segment but the entire interview was hard-hitting, no-nonsense and filled with well-aimed criticism of the Bush Administration.

Alan asked intelligent questions about Iraq, Dick Cheney and the war on terror that allowed Albright to elaborate her opinions, rather than just offer sound-bites. She blasted the Bush Administration's results in Iraq, saying that there is chaos there, not the freedom we and the Iraqis were promised, and that we are more vulnerable to attack with our troops spread so thin. She also called Dick Cheney's assertion that, in essence, terrorists prefer Kerry, "irresponsible."

My favorite exchange:
Albright: The President misled us on how things were going in Iraq.
Colmes: That's another way to say he lied.

She didn't disagree.

I'm not surprised the interview was edited for Fox television, considering how unflattering it was to the Bush Administration. Does anyone out there know whether Fox played longer versions of H&C interviews with Republican luminaries? (posted 9/21, 12:38 AM)

Update 9/21 2:25 PM: Based on responses from readers, it appears that the answer is: Yes. No surprise there, either. One of the things we found when doing our Outfoxed research was how Fox was often "oops, out of time" when someone presented an effective counter to the FNC slant.
