Throw That Dirt!
Reported by Melanie - September 8, 2004 -
During the three or four weeks that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were the darlings of Fox News, I, for one, never heard an unkind word said about them. Today (September 8, 2004), with a new anti-Bush ad produced by Texans for Truth hitting the airwaves (and being "out" for something like 24 hours), Neil Cavuto promoted an upcoming segment thusly:
"The blast from the past. First the Swift Boat Vets and now the National Guard second guessers, all coming to a TV near you. Why viewers say they hate them, but voters apparently are indeed swayed by them." (My emphasis.)
COMMENT: Note that Cavuto doesn't use derrogatory words to describe the Swift Boat Vets. Note too Cavuto's feigned innocence when he says "voters apparently are indeed swayed by them," as if he just found that out this morning.
