Hannity and Poppy Bush
Reported by Deborah - September 7, 2004 -
Hannity kept the glorious convention going just a little bit longer, opening the show tonight with a totally biased, exclusive interview with Poppy Bush. They had a grand time praising the boys, George and Jeb, and whining about the nasty Democrats. 9/8/04 9PM ET
Hannity set out to evoke sympathy for Mom and Dad Bush who have to suffer through the unfair attacks on their son." When they go after your son it hurts much more." Hannity reinforced this opinion, citing all of his favorite Democratic
attacks against Dubya.
George I, didn't need any prompting from Hannity. It was evident that he was an experienced political operative ripping the NYT and Michael Moore and praising Zell Miller's speech.
Hannity kept it going through 2 segments and it was so partisan that it began to look like a "Saturday Night Live" improv. Poppy Bush can get really nasty but he covers it well with that homespun persona he trys to put out. Hannity was one second away from falling at George I's feet to worship.
At the end of the piece Hannity said, "For the Bush family it's all about duty, honor, and service not legacy."
comment:
Hannity likes to have a lot of exclusive interviews lately, to avoid any dissenting voices that could burst his bubble of Republican superiority. He figures it's best to stay protected in his own world, where history has been rewritten; Republicans are above reproach and Democrats are "shrill" misguided traitors.
