Reported by Melanie - September 3, 2004 -

John Kerry delivered a "midnight speech" tonight, responding to the allegations made by Zell Miller, Dick Cheney, George Bush, and others at the Republican National Convention. Kerry's speech, taking place in Springfield, Missouri, began at 12:00 midnight ET.

MSNBC, CNN and C-Span2 all began carrying the speech at midnight. At 12:09 a.m. ET (9-3-04), Fox picked it up. At 12:11 a.m. ET, both MSNBC (they carried it for eleven minutes) and Fox left it (Fox carried it for two minutes). At 12:12 a.m. ET, CNN left it (CNN carried it for 12 minutes). Kerry's speech ended at 12:19 a.m. ET.

COMMENT: Folks, the press has got to cover the candidates as equally as possible, or else we're doomed. The views of roughly half of the citizens of this country are being marginalized or ignored altogether. This has gotta stop. Write, call, complain.
