It's Okay To Disagree but...

Reported by Deborah - August 30, 2004 -

MSNBC has been promoting one of the themes, we will be hearing all week. Tim Russert said, "It's okay if you disagree with the President on all the issues. He's a strong resolute leader." Then the viewers were taken to the floor of the convention to support the claim. 8/30/04 7:20PM ET

The viewers were introduced to Gigi Bolt. "She's 25,from Miami, a single Mom and some people might think she's a Democrat but she's a Conservative Republican." Gigi was ready with her response. "We're all here for one reason to re-elect George Bush. Nobody agrees 100% with other people."

Next we meet Dorothy Rogers from the Texas Delegation a perfect stereotype of a loyal Bush supporter. Dorothy was middle age, no nonsense, with a cowboy hat and a thick Texas drawl. "Everybody has a right to their opinion," Dorothy claimed. When asked her opinion of the President's statement that he "miscalculated" in the Iraq war. Dorothy said" He relied on other people. I support him and the war."

Ed Koch has been everywhere I turned today, saying how he disagrees with the President on every issue but Israel and that's why he's supporting him.

Oh, how inspiring to see the diversity, open minds and hearts of the Republican party. A party that embraces debate and encourages dissent and a President who can admit mistakes.
