Hollywood: Come on Down!

Reported by Melanie - August 28, 2004 -

At 9:53 p.m. ET tonight (August 28, 2004) Don King appeared live, from what looked like Times Square (named for that "liberal elite" newspaper, the New York Times, by the way), on The Big Story with Rita Cosby. A very excited King and Cosby shouted back and forth about how the Democrats have abandoned African-Americans and about how, if he's elected, we'll be scrambling to get rid of Kerry four years from how because things will be so awful.

COMMENT: When it comes to "Hollywood" and the "left coast" and "those activist actors," and "actors getting involved in politics" (think Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Bruce Springsteen, et al.), Fox's theme is that they've no business speaking out, that nobody cares what they've got to say, that they don't influence anyone's vote, that they should just stick with acting, and that they shouldn't use their celebrity to promote political parties or agendas.

Yet, voila! Here we go! I predict Fox will parade every celebrity they can find across their set between now and Thursday and encourage them to rave on about the wonders of life with four more years of Bush.
