Hannity's Comfort Zone

Reported by Deborah - August 27, 2004 -

Hannity is only comfortable with people who share his opinions and anyone who challenges him must be destroyed or converted (Hannitized). Now, not only is he threatened by the disintegration of the Swiftee smear but also by all those Democrats who are fighting back especially Colmes. Tonight a Vietnam Veteran who supports Kerry elicited a reaction that knocked him right out of his comfort zone. 8/26/04 9:15 PM ET

Christopher Gregory, Vietnam Veteran and Kerry supporter, is an articulate and well informed gentleman who seems to know alot about Kerry's role during and after the war. He was very clear about the distortions of the Swiftee boys and their political motives.

When Hannity discovered that Gregory had read "Unfit For Command" and actually understood it, he freaked out. A list of Hannity's rantings have been compiled below. These comments were bellowed at Gregory while he was trying to defend Kerry with a completed sentence.

"Did you commit atrocities?"
"You're wrong, I'm right!"
"You are a syncophant Kerry kool-aid drinker."
"I have a lot of friends including Ollie North who said they never did those things."
"I have a tape of Kerry saying he committed atrocities."
"I have that tape. I'll bet you $100,000!"

Comment: After watching Kerry's testimony tonight, Hannity's ravings seemed so absurd. I had read the testimony but viewing the scene and watching a painfully young Kerry speak, was very moving. What he did took enormous courage and he's still paying the price today. If that tape was shown to everyone, the Swiftee boys and Bush would be finished. I am convinced that the Republicans were intent on keeping the full taped testimony away from the public. Kerry's intelligence, poise and grasp of foreign policy at age 25 was very impressive and extremely presidential. Also, the testimony in context makes Hannity and Fox huge liars.
