Interesting What they Don't Cover, Vol. II

Reported by Melanie - August 24, 2004 -

Bret Baier filed a report today (August 23, 2004) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto about the "Schlesinger Commission." The Schlesinger Commission is a group of four people, assembled by Donald Rumsfeld, charged with investigating prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. I'd done a post earlier about the fact that Fox did not provide live coverage today (as did CNN) of the press conference at which the commission's findings were released. That post is "Interesting What they Don't Cover." As a result, I thought it only fair now to mention Baier's Pentagon report during Your World.

COMMENT: I still contend that Fox strives to control what its audience sees and hears. Having Baier report on it this way was less risky than airing the live event, when pesky, negative bits and pieces about the Bush administration might be aired. When Fox fails to carry a live Bush administration event, you know something's up.
