Ghengis Khan and Flashbacks

Reported by Deborah - August 24, 2004 -

Swiftee Paul Galanti, appeared on Hannity&Colmes to tell viewers how John Kerry's testimony in 1971 gave aid to the enemy. Hannity opened the segment with a charge that John Kerry's conduct was used by the North Vietnamese to harass prisoners of war.8/23/04 9PM

Galanti looked like a man with a mission trying to get Kerry no matter how foolish he looked in the process. Two responses were especially unbelievable.

In response to why it took all this time to come out against Kerry he said, "I never had a flashback until I heard that voice."Galanti was referring to the clip that Hannity has been showing non-stop of Kerry enumerating the atrocities. He claimed that "when I heard him say Ghengis Khan", he knew it was the same voice, he had heard 32 years ago while a POW.

When Colmes asked Galanti why all the men in his boat supported him. Galanti explained that the men in the boat wouldn't know what Kerry was doing because they worked under him . Contemporaries could judge him better.

comment: Okay now, Galanti heard John Kerry's testimony somehow while imprisoned in North Vietnam. It was a fairly long testimony and the Ghengis Khan statement probably wasn't in the beginning so they would be forced to play the whole thing. Now in 1971, technology was unlike today and I wonder how well equipped the POW camp was during the war. Maybe someone sent them an 8 track cassette recording . I could be wrong on this but it sounds far fetched to me.
As for the comment that the men he commanded on that small boat were not best able to judge him, that's just plain irrational.
