Hannity Accuses Moveon

In an effort to divert attention from the allegations made today in the New York Times article, Hannity accuses Moveon.org of collusion with the Kerry Campaign claiming that the liberal media has conspired to deny the Swift Boat boys their right to speak out. The battle tonight was long and intense, spanning three segments, but Alan Colmes was an admirable warrior for the Democrats. 8/20/04 9PM ET
There was no way that Hannity wanted to get into the facts represented in the Times article which carefully outlined the many connections between the Swifty
Boys and the Bush Campaign, so Moveon.org got all the heat. Once again he brought up that hateful lie about the Hitler ad and then called for an investigation of Moveon, demanding a release of all their E mails, to prove that there is collusion with the Kerry Campaign, which is a serious violation of campaign law.
In the midst of this diversion, Colmes was making a serious case for the connection of Bush to the Swifty Boys by showing a flyer for a political campaign rally for Bush, hosted by The Swift Boat Vets for Truth. Michael Reagan, maintaining his odd smile, couldn't even lie with conviction ,with visual proof right there. All he could do was attack Moveon and George Soros.
At 9:20 Brent Bozell and Ben Fritz came on to continue the battle. Brent Bozell has devoted his life to the pretense that the liberal media not only exists but is very powerful. Bozell joined Hannity in the Moveon accusation and complained that the media had not done an investigation already since they have spents millions of dollars to defeat Bush. Then Bozell reviews the Times article saying that it was the "worst Keven Bacon, 6th degree of separation" claiming there was no case.
Hannity brought up the new Swifty Ad, where they are dropping the original allegations and concentrating on how Kerry hurt them so deeply by accusing them of war crimes. Hannity had his out of context clip of Kerry listing the crimes as if he were ratting on the soldiers.
Colmes showed Kerry's full statement and the meaning was so drastically different, that it proved Hannity's ruthless level of deception. Kerry was talking about testimonies that many soldiers made at a hearing in 1971 in front of officials of government agencies. These were not Kerry's allegations
against his fellow soldiers, as Hannity always insists. For one brilliant instant, Colmes made Hannity look like a liar.
However, without missing a beat both Bozell and Hannity continue on their path of Kerry assasination, acting as if Colmes had never uttered a word. The deviousness took my breath away.
comment: Tonight Hannity's lies were exposed. He has been untruthful about John Kerry's post war activities. He has continually shown a clip of Kerry detailing the crimes committed by Vietnam soldiers pretending that Kerry was accusing them himself. The full clip would have shown the truth which undoubtedly Hannity knew since he had the clip edited in order to decieve the viewers. Also, he continued the Hitler Ad lie against Moveon and he made some very serious and irresponsible legal accusations against them too. It's time for Hannity to be stopped. As I said last night, he has crossed the line.
