Fox's Apology

Reported by Deborah - August 13, 2004 -

Hannity&Colmes tonight, must have been Fox's way of apologizing to their right wing base, for Bill Maher's appearance last night. Mike Reagan replaced Hannity and we got a tour of the Reagan Ranch plus an interview with a Reagan biographer. 8/13/04 9:40PM

Mike Reagan got the second half of the show to gush and glow about his loving Dad. At 9:40 PM, Mike talked to Lou Conner who had just completed his 5th biography of Reagan. Talk about adoration! They swooned and chatted about the funny things Reagan said and the heroic deeds he accomplished. It was a return to the funeral week.

Then we all went to the Ranch to see the simple and warm adobe ranch house where the family gathered for Thanksgiving. We even got to see the master bedroom and hear the strain in Mike's voice, as he uttered Nancy's name while standing by their bed. The highlight of the tour was the table where Dad signed the economic recovery act of 1981."And the rest is history," sonny boasted.Of course, the tour would have been incomplete without a mention of Gorbachov's visit to the ranch complete with family snapshots of Michail in a backwards cowboy hat.

Comment: The display of partisan pandering to the right was totally inexcusable.
It was also bad television. Even the most ardent Fox viewers must have burned out after the funeral week. This was obviously FNC reaffirming their true identity. In recent weeks, Fox has been putting on a little show for all the viewers questioning their journalistic integrity, since "Outfoxed" came out.I think the party is over and we're going to see Fox get down and dirty. Kerry's numbers look too good and the Democrats are too united.
