No Great Loss for Democrats
Reported by Deborah - August 12, 2004 -
Rodney Alexander shifted allegiance from the Democrats to the Republicans, giving Hannity another chance tonight to pitch the message. Alexander, a representative from Louisiana, made the switch unexpectedly and his interview showed that he probably made the right choice. 8/11/04 9:20PM ET
Rodney Alexander,R., Louisiana, seemed unruffled after making such a difficult decision and his reasons did not appear to be philosophically based. Alexander explained, "I didn't have the base I needed to win the election." Then he added as an after thought that he is pro gun, pro life and pro family.
Colmes asked him about all the money he took from people who thought he represented the Democrats. This did not phase him explaining that people can ask for their money back if they want to.
Blissed out Hannity then got a chance to praise the unappreciated great Democrats that have been rejected recently like Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller.Hannity welcoming his new frat brother said, " I love when liberals lecture us about choice but then won't give us any choices."
Sounds to me, like Congressman Alexander chose the party with the most votes to offer and chances are, he was never really a Democrat in the first place. Since Alexander obviously comes up short in the integrity area and proudly claims to be pro life, pro guns, and pro family, without seeing the contradiction, the Republican's can have him, with my blessing.
