Spinning a Good Economy

Reported by Melanie - August 10, 2004 -

Several posts were made on this site in the past few days about the awful payroll job number (32,000) released Friday (August 6, 2004) by the Labor Department, and Fox News' anchors and guests pushing the much higher household survey number (629,000) instead. Here's a good article, published in today's New York Times, titled, Spinning the Payrolls, by Paul Krugman in which Krugman talks about jobs, tax cuts and interest rates, and using the household survey number to spin a good economy.
