2002 Las Vegas Non-Threat in the News

Reported by Eleanor - August 10, 2004 -

Fox & Friends (Aug. 10, 7:00 a.m) spent a big chunk of the first hour on an Al Qaeda terror threat to Las Vegas in 2002.

The first segment about this old Las Vegas terror threat was a discussion among Friends. The second segment was an interview of David Hunt, Fox Military analyst. Not once did they tell us why we're hearing this dated threat warning today. Even in the Fall of 2002 when the tape surfaced in Detroit, the local Las Vegas authorities refused to attend a meeting with the FBI because they didn't see it as a "credible threat" against the city. Nevertheless, it's a story on Fox news in August of 2004, and I just heard it again at 9:00.

Mancow, Fox's radio personality guest, made fun of John Kerry's pronunciation of Teresa's name, saying that Ter-res-a is "snooty." (I guess the people who watch this show because they want to, and not because they have to, will agree.)

Fox also promoted the book "Unfit for Command" by John O'Neill, one of the Swift Boat crowd, that says John Kerry was dishonest about his wounds because they were self-inflicted.

Comment: Watch for this book to be on Fox News every day. They might condemn it, just as they condemn the Swift Boat ad, but it will get lots of air time. Drip-drip-drip-drip. Repetition works.
