Kennedy Power Too Much for Hannity

Robert Kennedy Jr. visited Hannity&Colmes to discuss his book,"Crimes Against Nature", which explores the horrendous environmental record of the Bush Administration. Hannity was not about to allow Kennedy to discuss the damaging contents of this book, so he immediatly found something that could brand Kennedy unpatriotic. This time it didn't work.8/3/04 9:41 PM ET
Hannity latched on to Robert Kennedy's assertion that there is a fascist like corporate crony capitalism, allowing polluters to run the regulating agencies. Hannity
kept accusing Kennedy of calling Bush a nazi and a fascist."Are you accusing this administration of being nazi like. That is disgraceful" Kennedy forcefully named several examples of corporate crony capitalism while Hannity continued repeating his accusation. Kennedy barked at one point."Let me finish!"
Finally, Kennedy was able to discuss one of the biggest offense of this administration
which is cancellation of the regulations on power plants to eliminate 90% of the mercury contamination which the Clinton administration had set up. Instead , 6 weeks ago, new regulations, significantly easier on polluters, have been adopted.This mercury contamination is found in the bodies of all women of childbearing age, in large quantities, and has been linked to the increase of children born with autism and cognitive impairments.
Kennedy went on to say that 400 major environmental rollbacks have eliminiated all our environmental laws. "Sean, you should be as upset about this as I am" Kennedy exclaimed. But Sean couldn't care less continuing to call Kennedy an extremist living a hypocritical life. "I want to hear you promise that you won't fly on your private jet." The insults and name calling continued, just to drown out Kennedy's shocking truth about Hannity's idol.
comment: Unfortunatly, Hannity's nonsense prevented Kennedy from exploring this crucial information in depth. The mercury contamination is a subject close to my heart because I teach the autistic and cognitively impaired children who are the victims of this pollution. I have read many studies on this topic and the elevated mercury levels must be arrested now. A high incidence of children with autistic spectrum disorders can always be found in areas with the highest mercury levels. What kind of sick people can close their eyes to this crime against our children.
