Hastert on Kerry

Dennis Hastert (R-Ill) was a guest today (August 3, 2004) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto, with Stuart Varney substituting for Cavuto. (Tom Tancredo (R-CO) appeared immediately afterward. Neither of these two Republican guests were balanced by a Democratic co-guest, and no Democrat appeared in a solo segment on this show.)
After Varney and Hastert talked about several things, including the "reforms" the Republicans have passed, about why the atmosphere is so venomous in politics today, and about Democrats calling Bush a liar, Varney asked Hastert what his experience had been, and whether he'd had to deal much with Senator Kerry during his days on Capital Hill. Hastert said he'd had occasion to have contact with Ted Kennedy but as to John Kerry: "Kerry has never been there. He's never done anything."
