Howard Dean Gets Branded

Reported by Deborah - August 2, 2004 -

During the days after 9/11, anyone who questioned the administration was branded
UNPATRIOTIC. In many areas of the country, anyone without a flag waving from their car, was suspected of anti-american sentiment. As the media tries to return to the post 9/11 atmosphere of fear and distrust, people could be afraid to speak up about important issues for fear of recieving the brand of the unpatriotic.
8/2/04 Hannity&Colmes 9PM ET

Howard Dean, made a statement yesterday, 8/01/04, that the timing of this terrorist alert is interesting and maybe there are political motives or maybe not. Tonight Hannity, brought Howard Dean's statement into as many segments as possible, encouraging the guests to confirm his "irresponsible rhetoric in time of war."
Hannity's condemnation of Dean , was meant to remind everyone to follow our leader with blind obedience or suffer the consequences.

comment: Howard Dean was expressing a thought that many Americans have each time the hysterical spectacle of terror frenzy hits the media. I had that thought as well as everyone in my family. At work, I heard sighs of "Here we go again" and various other expressions of frustration like "time for a terror tantrum." Friends in Washinton D.C., laughed when I asked if they're scared, replying," It's campaign season." All of us know that the threats could be very real but the way the fear is packaged and marketed, leaves us all suspicious. There has been a substantial shift in the public's consciousness and Hannity and his comrades need to invent better intimidation tactics.
