Check Out This Feeding Frenzy

Reported by Melanie - August 2, 2004 -

Today (August 2, 2004) on The O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly highlighted a new book titled: Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man, by David T. Hardy and Jason Clark. Both authors were guests.

As anyone who watches Fox News, much less The O'Reilly Factor knows, Rupert Murdoch, the owner of News Corp., Fox News, and Bill O'Reilly, hates Michael Moore. Murdoch hates anything left of Reagan.

Suddenly, Big Fat Stupid White Man appears. Lo and behold, it's published by Regan Books! Lo and behold, Regan Books is a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., the parent company of Fox News! Lo and behold, the authors appear on Fox News with Bill O'Reilly, owned by Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp.

COMMENT: Think about this for a minute. Think about how the whole Murdoch propaganda machine feeds itself.

First, find people who will lend their name to, and/or author a book that supports your agenda. Pay them to write it. Publish the book. Promote the book published by the publishing company you own by having the authors appear on the cable news network you own, promoted by the talk show host (oh, sorry..."journalist") you own.

Call the cable network you own "fair and balanced" and a "news" channel. With slogans like that, lure viewers. Don't reveal it when you've paid guests to write books you promote on your channel to promulgate your political agenda, but, call every other station (CBS and Richard Clarke's book for example) who does that onto the carpet and beat, beat, beat them for being "biased," or "dishonest" or worse. That way you'll give your viewers the impression that you'd NEVER do that! Meanwhile, sit back, watch the world get brainwashed and rake in the dough.

(Check the category listed along the right side of the home page titled "News Corp. Hegemony" for more details. FYI - Ralph Nader's latest book, as well as Joe Trippi's, are both published by Regan Books too. Any wonder these unlikely guests have been seen on Fox of late?)
