The Oh-So-Subtle Foxification of PBS

Reported by Marie Therese - July 27, 2004 -

On July 26, 2004 I monitored the PBS coverage of the Democratic Convention from 9 PM to 11 PM. In general I found it calm, measured and balanced. David Brooks argued the conservative side; Mark Shields, the liberal perspective. Three historians rounded out the panel.

However, when Bill Clinton came to the stage, Jim Lehrer's only comment was "They didn't kiss, did they?" I almost fell out of my chair.

Jim, Jim, please say it ain't so. You need to be de-FOXified immediately. What difference does it make if the Clintons kissed or not?

Leave that to the National Inquirer and FOX News Channel!
