Most boring car chase ever
Reported by Chrish - July 22, 2004 -
Studio B was off to a slow start July 21, and I mean s-l-o-o-o-o-w. Eight of the first nine minutes were live helicopter coverage of a slow-speed car chase in El Monte CA.
We never found out exactly what the importance was, but as far as could be told it was a stolen car puttering through the streets of town with 3 (?) police cars in pursuit. Even Shepard Smith was embarrassed and repeatedly called it the most boring car chase ever seen.
Comment: I thought air-time was really expensive. Some of the topics that could use a little coverage on Fox News Channel: the uncertainty about the security of touch-screen voting machines in the upcoming election, the ties to the Republicans of the owners of the companies that make said machines, the missing data/discs from Los Alamos nuclear facility, the status of the investigation into the Valerie Plame outing, the nine-hundredth American casualty in Iraq...there's a lot of news out there for any journalists not afraid to cover it!
How can we decide if they don't really report?
