Fifty Million Dollar Book Bomb
Reported by Eleanor - July 22, 2004 -
Fox & Friends (July 22, 7:35 a.m.) did a story on the sales of Clinton's "My Life" by calling it "Bill's Book Bombs." They stated that Clinton has a record for the greatest number of sales, but they discussed the price reduction, and the recent drop-off in sales, saying it is the result of "word of mouth reviews" that he "glosses over the good stuff."
The Fox hosts cite the history of sales as one million the first week, 150,000 the second week, 85,000 the third week, and 51,000 the fourth week showing a trend downward.
Comment: What they fail to say is that this downward "trend" in sales of a new book is typical, and that if Clinton sales totally stopped today, he has already made over $50,000,000 at $38 a copy on "My Life." That's a huge achievement, and he should be congratulated rather than calling his book sales a "bomb."
