Timing of the Berger Story

Reported by Eleanor - July 21, 2004 -

Fox & Friends (July 21, 7:22 a.m.) attempted to tackle the issue of timing of the Berger story with, "What took so long?" The incident occurred in October of 2003, and the democrats are asking that question. The answer on Fox: Searching the home and office takes time. A federal judge must have reason to believe a crime was committed before interviewing the suspect.

They have not interviewed him yet. They will talk to him after accumulating all the evidence that it's a serious criminal matter.

Comment: If it takes the Justice Department from October to July to search an office and a home and analyze the evidence, it's no wonder real criminals get away. If the only reason for the delay is their lack of competence, we're in more trouble than I thought. I suspect the timing has more to do with the politics of the matter. In this poisonous political season, the worst I have ever seen, nothing is off the table.
