Coulter Hit With The Facts

Reported by Deborah - July 20, 2004 -

Usually, Ann Coulter appears on Hannity& Colmes, spouting her outrageous lies and ruthless attacks, without any significant resistance from Alan Colmes and the guest for the opposition. Hannity usually sits back gleefully watching Coulter and only occasionally enters the ring. Tonight, was very different as Colmes and Peter Fenn, Democratic strategist, became an impressive team fighting the distortions of the Sandy Berger story, from Coulter and Hannity. 7/20/04 9PM ET

When Coulter came out directly accusing Sandy Berger of a crime without proof, Peter Fenn was outraged demanding an apology from Coulter. Coulter, not the slightest bit embarassed, reverted to her favorite diversionary tactic, Bill Clinton's crime. She insisted on comparing the Sandy Berger story with "Clinton's lie" when Republican's " were not allowed to accuse Clinton."

Peter Fenn and Colmes would not let up until they told the real facts around the story. The documents were taken by mistake; they were copies that everyone in D.C. already had seen; the incident happened 8 months ago and the 9/11 Commission knew and was not concerned. Fenn, of course, needed to talk over
Coulter to get the truth out and she was not happy.

"Peter, would you stop talking!" Coulter bellowed.
" You never stop talking," Fenn replied

Colmes asked Coulter why the FBI hadn't questioned Berger in 9 months if it was such a big crime? She flippantly answered something about the FBI working "up to the perp."

Fenn would not let Coulter's "perp" comment stand and began rattling off facts to refute her allegations. Naturally, Hannity couldn't allow that to happen and kept warning Fenn to stop.
"This is the last time. I'm not going to invite you on. I'm going to turn off your mic."

Fenn quieted down and Hannity and Coulter were able to read their script without distraction.
Coulter:" Pretty damning! Al Qeada may not have been Clinton's #1 priority"
Hannity: "Stuffed it in his pants. Stuffed in his socks."

However, by this time their allegations were just the silly gossip of petty enemies.
Bullies just can't stand up to the facts.
