Cavuto on Martha Stewart and Jail

Reported by Melanie - July 15, 2004 -

At 4:3l p.m. ET on Your World w/Neil Cavuto today (July 15, 2004) Neil and Andrew Napolitano, Fox's legal analyst, discussed tomorrow's sentencing of Martha Stewart. Napolitano explained the range of sentences the judge could impose and predicted Martha would serve six months in prison and then six months in a halfway house.

Cavuto said, with a dismissive wave of his hand: "Six months. You might as well start serving" it now (rather than trying to delay serving while waiting for appeals, etc.).

COMMENT: Give me a break Cavuto. If you were facing jail time wouldn't you do everything in your power to exhaust your legal remedies before you served? Will you next claim Martha Stewart's some sort of wimp because she doesn't boldly march into prison? Democrats can't do anything right in Foxland.

Also, Cavuto announced that they'll have wall to wall coverage tomorrow of Martha's sentencing and that they'll cover it all day Saturday too, in case you're interested in this important issue. (Doubtless the thrust will be that Bush is putting corporate criminals in jail and solving the corporate corruption problem. Maybe in another life we can talk about the undertone of glee running through Fox's coverage that a supporter of, and contributor to, the Democratic party is being so humiliated.)
