Random Sightings ...

Reported by Nancy - July 12, 2004 -

on Fox News Sunday afternoon -- & they're all of Bush!

That's right, yesterday seemed to be all-Bush, all-the-time, at Fox. While I wasn't monitoring exhaustively, Bush's face was on screen every time i flicked through the channel.

Comment: My personal favorite was at 3:56pm EDT, when Fox aired a 3-minute report of a tee-ball game on the White House lawn. Yep, 3 solid minutes or 180 seconds (when the average Fox news report runs about 60-90 secs), including audio/video of Bush introducing the various team members, coaches, etc.

But WAIT! It gets better: Not content with pretending that this game even remotely had anything to do with "news", at 4:57pm EDT, as they were going to a commercial break, Fox aired a little video clip consisting of nothing but Bush signing caps & such for participants in this most newsworthy tee-ball game. I didn't catch the exact beginning of this segment, but what I did catch was 40+ seconds long. I'm guessing that the entire clip Fox aired at that point was 59 seconds, so it couldn't legally be considered a political campaign ad. Of course, anyone not strictly bound by that namby-pamby definition would spot it immediately for what it clearly was: a political campaign ad.
