What a Way to Spend Eight Minutes

Reported by Eleanor - July 10, 2004 -

On Heartland, (July 10, 8:31 p.m.) John Kasich started a conversation with two radio hosts with a statement that the republicans demand the release of the full video of the Radio Music Hall fundraiser in which the president was called a liar, a thug and a killer. (This is the first time I've heard "killer," and Kasich didn't repeat it later.)

Erin Hart, the democrat, said that the dems raised $7.5 million dollars, and the guests at the fundraiser were exercising free speech. She also told Kasich he was "jealous" that Bush had never raised more than $5 million. Kasich said he wasn't jealous, and asked why Kerry didn't object to the language, and didn't she think the tape should be released. Everyone started talking at once when Erin asked why Cheney didn't release his energy documents.

They then got into same sex marriage with the typical responses, pro and con. Erin was given the last word, but then Kasich cut her off. She shouted after he stopped the interview, "A constitutional amendment is ridiculous."

Oh yeah, and at the beginning of this exchange, Melanie Morgan, the republican, said that Edwards is popular because he's pretty, and that women make up their minds on looks.

Comment: For once, a democrat did get the last word, but it was tough going just listening to this. I wonder why this kind of stuff is popular? As I said, I watch it so you don't have to.
