"Most Say" Where Does Fox Get Its Information?
Reported by Eleanor - July 8, 2004 -
After spending five minutes blaming anybody but Bush for the WMD fiasco, the Fox trio of friends (July 8, 7:17 a.m.ET) spent the next five minutes on the pretext of interviewing Debra Deshong, Communications Director for the Kerry campaign, but Deshong spoke only 10% of the time while E.D. used the rest of the interview time spreading the republican message of the day.
Hill got most of her anti-Edwards talking points in before asking Deshong what Edwards brings to the ticket. E.D. introduced the interview with: "Some say (??) that Kerry was just goofing around when he spoke of Edwards good hair. Others say, (?? again) that he has no experience, but good hair. He has no experience; he cannot pick up a state; and he's not moderate. What does he bring to the ticket?" Deshong replied that they are both liberal, but the best choice for America. They share the values of America, plus some other choice comments about their lead in Florida.
E.D. ended the interview by putting in the last word for the republicans with: "Most people (who are these people?) argue that since he's a trial lawyer, he debates better than Cheney, but Cheney can be president, while Edwards is a one-term senator." That ended the interview with no opportunity for a reply.
Comment: Fox constantly references mysterious, anonymous people who are so horribly anti-democrat that they cannot be named. What would the Fox anchors do if the language and the audience did not allow for "some say", "others say," and "most say" as a way to express the biased opinions of the network?
